Supporting Teen Safe Driving Efforts in the Nation's Capitol, Driving-Tests is Proud to Team up with B.R.A.K.E.S. and the National Organizations for Youth Safety
14 OCTOBER 2016, WASHINGTON, D.C.
SummaryIn an effort to continue striving to fulfill a need concerning new driver safety education behind the wheel, Driving-Tests.org is pleased to announce a new partnership with the B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe) Teen Pro-Active Driving School, a non-profit that conducts free defensive driving classes for teens and their parents in cities nationwide.
Driving-Tests has partnered with B.R.A.K.E.S. as they bring their defensive driving classes to the D.C. area for the first time on Oct. 15 and 16. The classes, utilizing a fleet of vehicles provided by Kia Motors America (KMA), will serve as the unofficial start of National Teen Driver Safety Week, Oct. 16-22, an initiative designed to educate teen drivers on best practices to stay safe behind the wheel. The B.R.A.K.E.S. classes will be held at the Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, Maryland. Registration for the lifesaving instruction nationwide is available at PutOnTheBrakes.org.
Driving-Tests.org is also a sponsor of the National Organizations for Youth Safety Youth Interactive Lab and will be onsite with B.R.A.K.E.S. at Rosecroft Raceway on Monday, Oct. 17. 100 teens from the D.C. area will be on-hand to experience the driver training course, take an online practice drivers’ test, learn about impaired driving, auto maintenance, tire safety and much more!
“We want to help teens become safer drivers and help parents understand their role in the process,” said Andrei Zakhareuski, Founder of Driving-Tests.org. “A partnership with B.R.A.K.E.S. is a perfect fit for us, we are both passionate about the need for and the importance of high quality driver education to help lower the number of teen driver related crashes, injuries and fatalities.”
“There is a completely natural fit between the advanced safe driver training we do at B.R.A.K.E.S. and what Driving-Tests.org does with their state-specific driver’s license practice tests,” said Doug Herbert, multi-time top fuel drag racing champion and founder of B.R.A.K.E.S. “We both want to help teens become better, safer drivers, and we both offer our services free-of-charge. We’re grateful for the support of Driving-Tests.org, which will help us continue to expand the reach of B.R.A.K.E.S. and bring our lifesaving training to even more teens and their parents across the country.”
Car crashes continue to be the leading cause of death for teens in the United States. In an effort to help new drivers become safer behind the wheel and pass their tests, Driving-Tests.org offers free online practice permit tests created by experts based on each state’s driving manual. The site has had more than 12 million unique users since 2010. Site users are not required to create an account, provide any personal information or login for the service. Driving-Tests.org (DTO) is a part of Elegant E-Learning, Inc., a seven-year old company with a proven track record of revolutionizing and providing free online resources for English teachers and instructors. With our parent company’s site BusyTeacher.org, now in its ninth year of operations as a trusted web presence for teachers worldwide, we aimed to fill a gap in the educational marketplace. Driving-Tests.org is part of a plan to do the same for driver safety by making free permit practice tests written by experts available to anyone who wants to study, along with online copies of official state or province study guides. To help achieve this goal, our company has also created driving permit practice sites for the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, India and Canada.
DTO currently partners with over 1,900 public libraries across the United States to make its permit practice tests accessible through the libraries’ computers. The company also has several national non-profit partnerships with the National Safety Council, National Organizations for Youth Safety, American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association, and the Roadway Safety Foundation. In 2016, DTO’s site had over 16 million unique visitors.
