Driving-Tests.org Partners with 1,000th Library Nationwide to Offer New Drivers Free On-Line Driver Education
21 JULY 2015
Driving-Tests.org has now reached its 1,000th Library Partnership milestone with the addition of Doniphan-Ripley County Library in Doniphan, MO.
Driving-Tests.org fills a need concerning new driver safety education behind the wheel. Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teens in the United States and nearly 40 percent of new drivers fail their written exams the first time they take them according to The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In an effort to help new drivers pass their driving tests without concern and become safer drivers on the road, Driving-Tests.org offers FREE online practice permit tests created by experts based on each state’s driving manual. The site has had more than 4.5 million unique users since 2010.
In April of 2014, Driving-Tests.org launched a pro bono community-based online driver education program as a public service initiative providing public libraries, colleges and universities across the nation with ad- free on-line permit practice tests and educational best practices to increase the driver safety skills of their patrons.
“The practice driver’s license tests have been very useful,” said Rebecca Wilcox, Director of the Doniphan-Ripley County Library. “New drivers can practice and then not be so nervous when they take the real state-sponsored test. The availability of these tests has been a real crowd-pleaser.”
“We are passionate about online driver education and setting high standards in the United States to help lower the number of teen driver related crashes, injuries and fatalities,” said Andrei Zakhareuski, Founder of Driving-Tests.org. “Car crashes are the number one killer of teens and this partnership with public and private libraries helps us to prepare more drivers not only for their permit tests, but more importantly for their safety on the road.”
The program is quickly growing and now providing service to libraries across 49 states.
